For the aluminium formwork industry, this rate is the largest single input driver of finished-goods cost. New aluminium formwork (Alloy 6061-T6) is calculated using a weight factor of 22 kg per square metre of finished panel plus an indicative ₹3,910/sqm fabrication margin covering casting, extrusion, anodising, accessories and assembly. So at today’s NALCO rate of ₹402.35/kg, a new aluminium formwork system works out to roughly ₹12,762/sqm before GST. Used or refurbished formwork uses a lower 15.4 kg/sqm weight factor with a ₹2,000/sqm rebuild margin, and end-of-life scrap value is computed at 40% of the prevailing aluminium rate × 22 kg/sqm.
